Well last thing I expected last Saturday was to run into zombies in the afternoon at the Millennium park. It was a hot day — temperature above 95°F (35° C) — but it did not stop the zombie aficionados from “totally” get into their characters by dressing up in costumers and walking around the city streets and public spaces.

I’ve learned that zombie walks are an underground movement coordinated mostly by word of mouth and via social media venues. During an entire day, participants are encouraged to communicate only as a zombie, which includes grunting and groaning. It seems like the earliest zombie walk in the USA was held on August 19, 2001, in Sacramento, California.

Here is a sweet zombie who graciously agreed to pose for me! Thank you girl! You literally rock!
