Last night I watched one of the best episodes of CSI New York. It was about a woman’s murder case that sent the agents into “Second Life” to track down the killer in both real and virtual world.

Besides of the neat cyber-world images, I was delighted to see the way they portrayed the emotional side of the characters that used “second life” as a way to avoid their true life.

From a marketing perspective, what a tremendous idea! This is a great example of how marketers can put old and new media together (TV and Second Life) to promote their product. Guess what? Last night, CBS and Cisco launched Virtual CSI New York, a series of 3-D environment where you can solve crimes, play games and interact with CSI agents.

Did CSI agents catch the murder [Venus] last night? Of course they didn’t. You have to track her down on the Virtual CSI before she kills again!
