brazilgiant.jpgI was delighted to find myself in New York this weekend to witnesses the celebration of Brazil’s Independence Day. I suddenly realized how much I miss the cheerful way we [Brazilians] face life.

I’ve been living abroad for almost six years, but getting in contact with my roots this morning worked like an addiction. As soon as I heard the first sounds of “Carnival,” I couldn’t help it. There I was enjoying it with every single piece of my Brazilian soul and heart.

In 1984 the City of New York proclaimed the first Sunday in September as the day in which it celebrates Brazilian Independence from Portugal, which took place on September 7th, 1822.

Here is of one the “Brazilian giants” I found this morning at the 46th street. It was fun!
